WHERE EAGLES SOAR!
Executive Director - Gary Bowman A Message from the Executive Director

12 June 2019

Dear members of the CMP Community,

This past week, each of our CMP campuses has held Graduation Ceremonies for our 8th Grade Class of 2019.  For the previous 16 years, I have had the great honor of attending these ceremonies throughout our network.  I have never been more proud of our CMP community than I am in this moment.

I am inspired by the speeches and songs by our talented students, as well as their accomplishments.  Most of all, I am touched by their sense of community (“Ohana”).

Gary Bowman - Executive Director A Message from the Executive Director

CONGRATULATIONS, CMP Students, Staff and Families, for a fantastic 2018-19 school year.

And, to CMP’s 8th Grade Graduates, I acknowledge, with great joy, your exceptional accomplishments!  This is YOUR moment to savor.  You belong to a very special learning community.  Some of you have been part of the CMP community for just a few years, while many of you have enjoyed CMP’s full Kindergarten-8th Grade continuum.

Executive Director - Gary Bowman A Message from the Executive Director: Why Do We Fundraise for Our CMP Schools?

Superintendent’s Message - May 28, 2019

“Why Do We Fundraise for Our CMP Schools?”

I was asked this question by a parent during one of our recent LCAP Stakeholder Input Sessions.  Great question, btw, and thanks for asking!  Here are a few thoughts:

First, and foremost, CMP’s school leaders are committed to providing the highest level of service to students, staff and families as we prioritize Montessori Methodology throughout our network.  We value our teaching assistants and our small class-sizes.  We offer our certificated staff a competitive compensatory package.  And, last, but not least, we recognize the importance of safe and clean facilities, and the amenities offered at each site.

Dear Parents and Community Members,

I just want to express my appreciation to all of our teachers and staff for always giving their A game when working with the children. As the school year comes to an end, the students have the heightened energy and excitement that summer brings. Similarly, teachers and staff also have the excitement that summer brings and continued energy to make this the best school year for the students! They push themselves daily to always give their best to the children, to always make the encounters with each child memorable, positive and hopefully life changing. Thank you for the care you provide and the love you show the students. It will leave them with a special memory as they go into summer and a new grade or level.

It is an honor and delight to witness the great work our teachers do. I invite you to join me in thanking them and showing appreciation for their dedication, commitment and hard work.

Sincerely,

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

We are proud to announce that CMP is collaborating as a network and is participating in PBIS training. The primary goals of PBIS are:

  • Development of a continuum of scientifically based behavior, social emotional and academic interventions and supports
  • Use of data to make decisions and solve problems
  • Making changes in the environment to prevent the development of problem behavior
  • Teaching and encouraging pro-social skills and behaviors
  • Implementation of evidence-based behavioral practices with fidelity and accountability
  • Universal screening and monitoring of student performance and progress

Our campus has formed a team including Administrators, Teachers, and Teaching Assistants who will attend trainings throughout the year.  The team will then share information learned with the staff during early release professional development days and staff meetings.  The team will continue to meet regularly to strategically implement PBIS strategies campus-wide creating consistent and clear expectations, positive reinforcement for desired behavior, and positive and constructive responses when problem behaviors arise.

Parents can support this endeavor by encouraging their children to always abide by the school rules of S.O.A.R:

Be Safe

Offer Peace

Always Respectful

Be Responsible
