May is Mental Health Awareness Month, with the purpose of promoting awareness to end the stigma that surrounds mental health. Mental health includes our psychological, emotional, and social well-being and helps determine how we interact with others, how we handle stress, and what choices we make. The mental health of all people is important throughout all stages of life, beginning in early childhood. The coronavirus pandemic and recent world events have had a profound impact on all of us, with many experiencing mental health struggles as a result. Now more than ever, it is crucial to stay connected and reduce the stigma around mental illness. No one should feel alone or go without the information, help, and support they need.
